Default Rear end Squeking, slight vibration?

Ok I have searched the forum a bit and came up with nothing.

If I go slow forward or reverse I can here a squeking noise coming from under the bed. I have lifted the truck up on the hoist and checked everything and I can't find what it is. I moved the tires while on the hoist and it's nothing when I turn the tires.

I was told maybe a U-Joint is going out??? After about a 20 minute drive I took my laser heat thing and the front U-joint on the rear axle is about 5* warmer then the rear. You guys think thats what my problem is? Only other problem I can see is if i'm going about 65+ and I let of the gas I can feel a slight vibration until I hit the gas again then it goes away.

check out your leaf springs it could be rubbing the shackle, or a bad bushing

I can 99.9% say your rear u-joint is rusty and isn't moving freely, it's sort-of binding up.

I had the exact same issue and symptoms and just had my rear U-Joint changed out. It was covered under my powertrain warranty.

Remember...!!!! if you don't see the C-clips on the U-joint caps you have the plastic injected ones. So if you heat them up before you press them out it will make your job got alot faster and easier... I just replaced all three of mine on my Mega Cab... It had the same exact problem... If you feel the viberation in your butt Than its 99.9% chance your U-Joints....

Good Luck...

Well it was a very easy project was done in about 45 minutes. I have changed tons of U-joints on farm equipment but never on a vehicle. I got lucky and had snap rings and didn't have to get the torch out.

The U-joint was defiantly the problem the back u joint there was one that had no grease on it at all. No more squeaking.

Thanks for the input everyone.
