Ok, just curious, does anyone know, if the bolt is removed from the primary chain idler sprocket, would oil flow out of that hole? According to the lubrication chart, it looks like it would.

Well, as much as I'd just like to let this thread die, and not admit stupidity, I won't. I put this engine together, and didn't reinstall the primary chain idler sprocket bolt. If I had followed the manual, I would have noticed it missing when checking end play, but my attention was deverted to getting the timing correct. Even worse than that, I saw the bolt sitting there when I was all done, it was the only thing left, and I searched and searched my memory, and couldn't remember ever taking it out of the engine, and determined that I had set it there from another project (which I'm pretty religous about not doing). So that's it, oil problem is now solved, and the truck runs great. I'm praying I have no lasting effects from this other than my pride.
