Yep thats what I thought too when I read 2700 and then realized the 5.9 motor, thank God for the 35's eh, so now I realize more and more why my gearhead Furd and Cheb buddies look at me funny when I tell em I'm goin 4:56 some day and that the Hemi sweet spot is 2200 for best mileage.

So Op it's a real hard decision and I have changed my mind more than once but as these guys are preachin 4.56 and I am startin to listen as I don't wanna regret it cause it is not gonna be a cheap mod and I need to realize I'm not drivin a SC and goin from 3:55 I'm gonna have a huge smile on my face too, I'm sure, and my favorite cruisin is on the Hwy too so its been a debate for me! Some folks are probably thinkin, oh not another What Gears Thread but i read all of these cause I am interested in what tire combo/speed/rpm is happenin and also learned about the 02 set-up as well.

It doesnt bother me on the highway, so with the trans you have it would be great, if anything it scares the crap out of people seeing a truck the size of mine screaming into traffic off an on ramp

Correct. All 03+ have 5speed trans. I don't understand why your so high? You should be under 2300rpms with a 35" tire in O/D gear. Even a 33" tire would be at 2450rpms with your tranny at 70mph??????? Use my calculator below and see for yourself(2nd from bottom). Transfercase should be at 1.

TRANSMISSION IDENTIFICATION
Transmission identification numbers are stamped on the left side of the case just above the oil pan sealing surface (Fig. 1).
GEAR RATIOS
The 45RFE gear ratios are:
1st. . . . . . . . . . . 3.00:1
2nd. . . . . . . . . . . 1.67:1
2nd Prime. . . . . . . 1.50:1
3rd. . . . . . . . . . . 1.00:1
4th. . . . . . . . . . . 0.75:1
Reverse. . . . . . . . 3.00:1
GEAR RATIO
The 545RFE gear ratios are:
1st. . . . . . . . . . . .3.00:1
2nd. . . . . . . . . . . 1.67:1
2nd Prime. . . . . ... 1.50:1
3rd. . . . . . . . . . .. 1.00:1
4th. . . . . . . . . . . 0.75:1
5th. . . . . . . . . . . 0.67:1
Reverse. . . . . . . . . 3.00:1

Using a gear calculator with your size tire and a .67 overdirve gear produces an effective rpm of 2160.5152165677486 Just as Hammer has stated.
My suggestion you you is turn the O/D off and bring the truck up to 2150rpms and see if you like it. You will probably be at a lower speed of ~60mph if you currently have 3:55's.

That is the kit you need and it comes with everything you need, if you are gonna stick with the stock lsd unit i would sugguest putting new clutches in it to liven it back up some since you will be in there anyways.
