Default Are these lights crap?

I was planning on going to wal-mart tomorrow and getting a set of hellas to put behind my grill and re-wire them with 100 watt bulbs but I found these and I'm wondering if these are any good? The second ones have 100 watt bulbs already. Anybody try these?

i haven't tried those, but harbor freight stuff is always hit and miss in my luck.
The first lights look pretty slick though. And for 10 bucks that isn't bad.

best thing about harbor freight is if it breaks you take it back,,,,,but do you really want to have to reinstall new lights because the others failed, i say get the hella's, besides, wal mart will take things back from other stores, lol,

the $10 lights look like KC knock offs they are a big light like 4 inches deep. the Hella's are what little over an inch maybe 2 deep.

Crap. the chrome one's will rust out in no time. The other one's I doubt you will get as much light out of them as the Hellas or Cepeks due to their design.
I'd either go on Ebay and pick up a pair of Cepek Stainless 130w lights for $65 or go to Wally world and buy a pair of Hella 500's for $50-60. You can get the Hellas online for even cheaper depending on who is selling them. Only thin about the Hella's is you would likely want to upgrade the measley 55w bulbs and wiring that are with them to 100w stuff. Cepeks are already done up and would be the easiest. i just don't know how fitment wise they would be up against the radiator if you were to follow my install in my sig??

Where were you planning oninstalling them?

The Hellas have a plastic housing which equals no rust. And they are nice and thin.....but $10 is nice! You could paint them maybe and they may not rust.....

as DirtyDog said the Hella wiring is crappy - I re-did all of mine with 16 guage wire and heavy duty 40amp relays.

I'm going to put them behind the grill. I think I'm just get the hellas from wal mart and re wire them for 100 watt bulbs like you did.

7" Navigator Lights from Advance Auto 29.99 if I remember correctly, damn near Identical to the hellas, and have held up just fine

For behind the grill, Hellas or a similar design. The thin depth is perfect for a behind the grill installation...
