Cam/supporting mods help
Hey guys, new here as a poster but have been reading for a bit. Awesome place
I had some questions about a cam and supporting mods for my '04 QC 5.7 truck. First things first I guess is the current mods. I have a Predator programmer, 90mm throttle body from Moe's, a set of Pacesetter Long tubes, custom Y-pipe (exhaust shop), 3 inch piping into a Magnaflow muffler, and dump right before the axle. I've been wanting a cam set up for sometime, but I'm new to Dodge trucks and have been trying to figure them out, plus saving money from my deployment to do it right.
I want a cam with good low/mid power. I don't want to lose all my top end, but I don't use it as much as low end torque. I'd like for it to give a nice lope, good amounts of lift and duration, but this is a daily and from what I've seen we can't go as large on the cams as I could back in my Chevy days with out some other mods. I was looking at the Comp Cams series, but I haven't found to much else without doing heads that I can't afford just yet. Once I get to that point I'll just go custom grind. Also I've decided on the manley 6.1L springs, pushrods and titanium retainers to go along with the cam, unless there's something better?
I guess I'm just looking for Cam idea's to see what all's out there since really I've only found the Comps. Any help is appreciated, as well as any advice to help out some one new to the Hemi!
