i changed my belt and idler pulley and now it sounds like crap. any ideas what it is? my only guess is that i got the wrong pulley, but when i turn on the a/c it sounds even worse. this truck is gettin on my nerves

What did it sound like before you replaced the tensioner and belt? Have you tried to run the engine without the fan belt and see if the sound is gone?

I agree with taking the belt off and checking. But as for the tensioner pulley, I dont think you can get it wrong. Did you get it from the dealership and what P/N was it?
