brakes sqealing
you need to pull the pads off and put some sort of grease or brake quiet behind the pads. even with a shim

^^^ I concur with John, I always buy those small packets of brake disc quiet which are $1 each when doing brake pads. The shims on the backside are not enough to eliminate squeel which is caused by the pads vibrating between the rotor and the caliper. The lube that dries to avery elastic silicone type substance stops the pads from vibrating.
You want to coat the backside of the pads on the areas that tough the caliper. So, a ring around where the piston touches and the horsehoe area on the outside where the frame touches is sufficient. The squeel will generaly not go away unless corrosion locks the pads in place!
You DON'T want to do the topside or it will eliminate the movement of the inside pad which slide with the calper. Just do the backsides. And make sure the metal slide are clean and greased, but not over greased.
