Default Weird Horn Noise?

So on my way to work this morning. I got stuck behind some woman too busy putting her makeup on than rather watch the road so when i hit my horn it sounds super weird. It had a lot of static and was high pitched. Any idea what could have happened?

Sounds like one of the two horns is going bad.

Yeah do what jake did or Go ahead and get you some train horns lol. I unhooked mine factory horns and hooked up some Wolo train horns. Now no one can say they didnt hear me honk my horn anymore.

What he said...just unplug one and then the other and see if one sounds different...I found an electric air horn and hooked them up instead...

Yea I always wanted a train horn or a 18-wheeler horn. Esp. for when I get my alarm. Would me having a train horn as my only horn be illegal though?

it may be in Louisiana but cops don't mess with me where i live.
I have considered putting mine on a separate horn switch just in case my compressor or tank decides to break.

If you do decide to get some, Ebay sells train horn kits for good deals. I believe i paid 250 for my wolo horns, tank, compressor and alot of air line.

Badblack-where did you mount your tank? Horns just fit under the hood somewhere?

My tank and compressor are currently in my bed, mounted to some 2x12 wood, under my tonneau cover. before that i had made a metal box with a lid, vents, etc. and had it mounted on the inside of my frame. I fabbed up some legs to miss the fuel and brake lines. I sold the box to a friend when i bought the tonneau cover. unfortunately, I never took pictures of it but i do plan on making another when i get time. For the horns. I have a 10"x8" sheet of 1/8 stainless bolted to the inside of my bumper. Then the horns have a L shaped bracket mounted on them and the L bracket mounts to the stainless. Its not that good but here is a pic of the horns. Thats water on the horns.

yea it seems like water in the horn. i do a lot of offroading and when i go hunting, water crossings and my horn sounds like what you described and mine has water and mud in it. i was able to beat some of it out and it sounds a little better but it would be better to get a new horn in my opinion.

Yea replacing it probably isn't too expensive...you could hit up a junk yard for one.
