Ok, check engine lights on, popped codes 0315 and 0016. They are for crankshaft and camshaft sensors I believe, but the dealership took the cylinder heads off. Hmm, truck was misfiring, and lost a lot of power. It is a 2005 Ram 1500 Quad Cab with the Hemi. Any ideas anyone? Been losing coolant and truck has been getting hot easy. My guess and hopefully not is a head gasket. If anybody can think of anything else let me know. This sucks.

Can i assume you have a 4.7?

You best hope is that it is a bad head gasket and not a cracked head. If you are loosing coolant and misfiring, well, those two just go hand in hand with one another.

Thats better but if you are loosing coolant and over heating then you still gasket/head issues. If you were not loosing coolant then it might be a different story.

Where are you located? Are you mechanically inclined?

Here is an update. They said it was valve pitting. The cylinder heads were good. Still don't know why the valves would pit though

Ok, I looked at all the valves. They didn't look to bad. But the dealer machined the heads, and the valves, and put them back on. I went on leave while they did this, and picked it up when I got back. Well I drove it for about 25 miles and it started to misfire again, with no check engine light. So I took it back in and now they are saying it is the intake manifold. I have no idea. Anybody else have any?

Still back to square one, head gasket or cracked head.

Well when they had the heads off to have them machined they did pressure checks, looked for cracks and replaced the head gasket when they re-installed them.
