Default 2002 1500 Won't start after slamming on brakes.

Please, help!
I had the front brakes changed two weeks ago. The front left break started grinding and would not turn freely, so we figured the caliper was bad. We replaced it, then we couldn’t get the pressure back up and the pedal was going to the floor. I left the truck at my dad’s for the night, then the mechanic was too busy to work on it in the morning. My dad decided to run some tests on my already messed up brakes! He slammed on the brakes at 30 MPH (It was probably more, but he told me 30 MPH.) to check the ABS, and it died. Now it will not start, but the engine tries to turn over. I was sitting in a car behind it and it appeared to be shaking around a lot, but I’m usually the one in it and it may always do that (?). My boyfriend listened for the fuel pump and said it sounded like it was working. He heard it engage for 2 seconds like it is supposed to, then off after humming. Inside the hood, there is a sticker that says there is a rollover switch on top of the fuel tank, but my more reliable mechanic says there is no rollover switch or inertia switch.
Please help!

My beloved truck has been towed to a better mechanic and will be fixed soon, but I’m dying to figure this out soon.

Thanks,
Nikki

Also, it is a June, 2002 model Ram, 3.7 v6. We used a Cen-Tech Can OBDII reader and there were not any codes.

Hmm. Now this is odd.

So, it cranks. Good.

3 things an engine MUST HAVE to run. Fuel, Spark, Air. Air is usually always a given, so really 2 things.

You say the fuel pump is working. So, its gotta be spark. first thing to check, Fuses.

Also, try Un-hooking battery for 10 minutes and trying again, if it did go into some kinda non start mode, that should clear it.

Hope that helps,

Ryan

Getting it to a good mechanic will really help you out here. 2001Ram has it all right. Those are the basic things and you need them all. But with no CEL or DTCs it would seem the sensors are all ok including the ABS. I would go through the process of verifying spark on each cylinder and after that check fuel pressure and maybe even use some starting fluid to get the engine kicked off and started. From there it gets to engine timing and sensors.

Default Not running, but figuring it out...

My mechanic called and said there is water in several places under the hood. I called my dad and learned that he cleaned the engine up with soap and water and rinsed it with a garden hose, before doing the ABS test. There is water on the sparks plugs. Those will be replaced, along with the coil and all the spark plug wires. Autozone gave up the wrong number caliper, that that was the problem with the brakes. We're hoping this will fix it, as it will cost more than $600.00. There is water between all the coils and the plugs. Would you have these all replaced or let them dry up.

Thanks for prior responses.... You were correct about the sparks plugs. I knew there was something fishy about my dad's story.

I would let them dry out and most water really wont hurt anything as long as it is not electrical like the PCM or fuse block.

But it does sound like you need to keep your dad away from your ride and come hang out with us more.

Thanks for all of your help, everyone. I decided to let my mechanic replace the things mentioned above out of the desire to keep my vehicle sound, in addition to a jam packed schedule this week. It should be running by 5:00! I'm just afraid of additional parts tinkering out in the weeks to come, as a result of the delousing.

is there just one coil or is it the 4.7 where it has 8! That would be soo expensive. Leave the hood up in the sun, for like 5 hours. Itll dry up!
