Default 4X2 convert to 4X4

Ok for whatever reason i picked up my 2wd a while back, i had always used my old bronco for off roading untill i sold it. So im curious is it possible to convert my 4X2 to a 4X4 and if so about how much etc. Im pretty mechanically inclined and have done all my own auto work since i was 16 but this beyond my knowledge. I know im better off getting a new 4x$ but i love this truck and dont want another payment...any help would be awesome!

Sell the 4x2 and buy a 4x4 for the same or lesser value, then you've got a 4x4 and no new payment. Honestly, don't try to convert it. 9 out of 10 responses your going to get will echo this.

So far, everyone who has attempted this, has either given up and had a pile of parts in his garage worthy of the salvage yard, or had spent 8x what they originally thought and wished they'd have just traded their 4x2 in on a 4x4...

Yeah i have a pymnt on this one, about 14 months remaining, or 6000 so i may just finish paying it off and trade it in the day after...il have to somehow stop the offroading itch untill then. thanks guys i appreciate it.

not sure what kind of off roading you are doing but a rear locker and a winch might get you by

Yeah, iv had a couple people tell me i wouldnt need the full list that huseman provided but yeah i still cant get a 100% def answer. As far as a rear locker and a winch goes its an option but i would have to add a lift for some added ground clearence, new bumper, tires etc....iv got 20 inch american racing wheels with perili tires but am looking to throw on some 33's with the 20 rims but dont think im going to have the clearence for it. Found a nice ram 4X4 at a local dealer with a 6 inch skyjacker lift, 35's skid plate etc but wanted 22k for an 2005 with 75k miles which is no bueno...i guess its hard to make a 2 wheel drive off road worthy or midwest winter worthy.

Default 2wd or 4wd

Hey Guys
I have been a way for a while but I am jumping back into the dodge scene.
I had a lightning and I sold that thing quick.I am debating on a 2wd or 4wd and I kinda of want a 5.9 gasser but they stop putting them in the trucks after 02 and 03.
So this is where I need the help,I got back from the coast this weekend and there was a 2wd ram 1500 lifted,it was really nice but the funny thing is he never got stuck like the other 2wd's,so I started talking to him and it turned out that he had a locker in his truck but had a 4.7
I am looking for a 02-05 because I like that body style but I need help if I should buy a 2wd or 4wd and what type of motor I should be looking for,PLEASE HELP!!!
