annoying bump steering wobble on my 2wd ram
#13
Mine does the same, re did the whole front end, ball joints, tie rods, shocks. Still has a lot of play in the wheel. Getting an alignment tomorrow since I just finished that work. If it still don't fix it, is there a steering stabilizer for the 1500's? anything to stop this wheel wobble would be awesome.

Hmm, no matter what I gotta find a way to solve this. I always blamed the wide tires also but after seeing these threads and basically my entire new front end not solving this. It's getting annoying. I remember the dealer told me a long time ago I needed a new rack but never did it as everyone else told me its fine. I wonder if I should bother changing it.

After reading some of the threads for the 2500/3500 i really think you guys need to look into a steering stablizer. The jiggle you talk of is play in the steering box and felt in the wheel. It's *******ly eliminated with the steering stablizer. I live on beat up old country road with bumps, cracks, and whatever else you can think of. I drive it everyday and do so with one hand on the wheel with cruise set at 60 never a scare or a problem when i hit a bump.

Those are the part #'s right off of BDS website for an 06' dodge ram 1500 4x4. I would call and make sure this works with a factory set up as these are add-ons for the lift that i purchased.

I'll be honest with you w1ck3tt, I just dealt with it for the last few years. The roads i take were fixed and there are no more bumps. So it really hasn't affected me like it used to. I looked into a steering stabilizer but didn't find anything. Once in a while i do still hit bumps that make the truck feel like its doing the Dukes of Hazzard. I'm like you. I want to make sure i fix the right thing the first time. I just paid my ram off so i'll have a few extra bucks laying around. I may do another look for a stabilizer. I'll post what any info i find here.
