that would make sense as to why i dont have the problem. I never drove mine before the lift, but my lift came with new shock absorbers.

Mine does the same, re did the whole front end, ball joints, tie rods, shocks. Still has a lot of play in the wheel. Getting an alignment tomorrow since I just finished that work. If it still don't fix it, is there a steering stabilizer for the 1500's? anything to stop this wheel wobble would be awesome.

nh5 not sure if the 1500 comes stock with the steering stablizer, but my lift i added the upgrade of getting one. My shock absorbers were also replaced with the kit and i went with new leafs instead of blocks on the back. I can do 55mph around a corner hit a bump and not even flinch.

Hmm, no matter what I gotta find a way to solve this. I always blamed the wide tires also but after seeing these threads and basically my entire new front end not solving this. It's getting annoying. I remember the dealer told me a long time ago I needed a new rack but never did it as everyone else told me its fine. I wonder if I should bother changing it.

After reading some of the threads for the 2500/3500 i really think you guys need to look into a steering stablizer. The jiggle you talk of is play in the steering box and felt in the wheel. It's *******ly eliminated with the steering stablizer. I live on beat up old country road with bumps, cracks, and whatever else you can think of. I drive it everyday and do so with one hand on the wheel with cruise set at 60 never a scare or a problem when i hit a bump.

Those are the part #'s right off of BDS website for an 06' dodge ram 1500 4x4. I would call and make sure this works with a factory set up as these are add-ons for the lift that i purchased.

I'm probably gonna just change the rack eventually, supposedly that's the surefire fix. But these steering stabilizers I can't find anything for my 02.

Look up Steering Box Stabilizer. I just put one in my 2006 1500 Mega that had the Death Wobble and bump steer when the leveling kit was in and it handles like a Caddy now. Highly reccomend it

I'll be honest with you w1ck3tt, I just dealt with it for the last few years. The roads i take were fixed and there are no more bumps. So it really hasn't affected me like it used to. I looked into a steering stabilizer but didn't find anything. Once in a while i do still hit bumps that make the truck feel like its doing the Dukes of Hazzard. I'm like you. I want to make sure i fix the right thing the first time. I just paid my ram off so i'll have a few extra bucks laying around. I may do another look for a stabilizer. I'll post what any info i find here.
