Default Will 37" Tires Fit a 2WD with a 2" level and 3" Body Lift?

So I've got an 08 Ram 1500 2wd. It has a 2" leveling kit, and a 3" PA Body lift. Here's the scenario.

I am not allowed to take my car to college while I'm a freshman. So it is just going to sit in my garage. What I want to do is put 37" tires on, but will that work? I plan on doing another 4" lift after I put the tires on, but will the 37" tires fit in the wheel well (with the level and PA body lift)? This car literally will probably be driven around the block once a week and nothing more so if there is minor rubbing that is perfectly fine.

Thanks.

Don't post a message if you yourself should go back to school also and you aren't willing to help.

I believe you used too many periods. Didn't capitalize the "J" on "just" you forgot the "g" on "sayin". You also forgot the comma after "sorry". "JUST SAYIN"!

Cardinalfan- I believe you'd be cutting it pretty close. I believe most will say to go with 35" tires. Guess we'll see.

Why I do believe you are correct. Maybe because this is a forum and not an english class.

After thinking about it. I would say 37`s would be cutting it close as well. If it was me I would get the lift first. But that`s just me. You could go with 35`s and clear with out any problems at all.

37 is a big tire...i think you could fit it, as you can fit a 35 with 2 1/2in level with a tiny bit of trimming.

going from 35 to 37 is going to be a fairly large jump in price as well as the initial change from 33 to 37 will lead to quite a few more fillups

and your wheelwells will be full but thats what i think looks good

I believe that there is a guy on here that is running the 37's with a 3" body lift and the 2.5 front level. Looks damn good but I believe he said that they rub at full lock. I running the same set up with 35's.. have no issues at all.

You will have to cut metal to get 37's to fit with just a level and body. But once you cut the metal and remold the plastic in the wheel well you will have no more issues. I had mine out on some pretty gnarly hunting roads and had no rubbing at all.

Drivers side

passenger side

But 37's look pissed. I also have a 3" rear add-a-leaf

I would not suggest 37's unless you also re-gear to 4:56
Now I have 36" Super Swampers that are noticabely more then an inch smaller so I am considering 38 Super Swampers next.

I know, I still say those Swampers look puny compared to your old Mud Grapps. I was parked next to a lifted '02 Ram 4x4 at the golf course the other day with 35" Super Swampers and the tires looked a good two inches smaller and narrower than my 35" FCIIs. And I always b*tched that my 35" FCIIs only measure 34 1/4"!!!

Somebody needs to send Interco a tape measure...

and to the OP: I would NOT base tire fitment on your 4x2 off of guys with a 4x4. Pyro has a 4x2 with a 6" lift and I have a 4x4 with a 4" lift and my truck sits a good 2-3" higher than his. Granted I have 35s and he has 33s, but measuring my tire diameter vs. his, mine are barely an inch bigger. So there is DEFINITELY a height difference between a 4x2 and a 4x4.

Of course the other problem you run into is how much certain brand lifts actually lift. I know of all the ones I have seen, only the Skyjacker 6" actually lifts 6". Some 6" lifts don't lift any higher than my Rancho 4" kit...

Hammer, I know you can look at some 4x2 rams and they look low as crap, but then others look the same as 4x4s. My buddy has a stock 06 4x4 and we used to park beside each other at work and even with my 1in level they were the same height

and nitto, just wanted to point out that with your situation, you had to cut probably because you had mud grapps...i doubt he will be getting something with lugs that stick out 3 1/2 foot lol but they are one of the best looking tires out
