Quick question on the final install of the air condenser fan for a 2002. I followed all the posts on here including the tips, instructions, etc. I got the thing installed like a glove and now the old plug will not fit into the new fan. I assume the fan is right because it is spot on the same and all the info on the packing slip is right. I dont know if it was supposed to come with an adaptor of sorts or what but it will not fit. I am including pics of the new fan installed to show the plug as well as the old fan motor and the plug that needs to be plugged in. Any thoughts would be great, thanks so much!!

 

There's two pin's in the fan correct?
I'd just crimp two connectors on a pigtail. Connect them to the fan and then splice the open end of the pigtail into your original harness, leaving the original harness connector in place. That way, you can always reuse the connector if you get the correct fan in the future..
Try to keep the pigtail wires going to the same side of the old harness and you shouldn't have any polarity problems. Not that I beleive you should have any on a two pin connector.

With you having an 02 and in 03 they did some changing and then in 04 they did some more changes, it is likely you got a newer years truck replacement and that is why it doesnt fit right. I would do like Abarmby said and cut and splice to make it work

 

Thanks! I apologize for this stupid question... I understand how to splice into the old harness but I guess I dont understand how to connect that to the new motor. Do you get a connector that is similar to the metal prongs in the motor connector? And how would you know which prong is which wire on the old harness/connector?
Again, sorry for the stupid question. I can swap a part but when it comes to "making it work" I'm not much use.

From that first picture it looks like you could use regular insulated female spade connectors.

 

Well I wanted to give an update and a thanks to everyone. I actually just waited for the company to send the correct wire connector. Of course as little as I know, I accidently put a clip on the fan and that caused the fan not to spin, cranked it up and burned the new motor up... Nice. So i had to wait another 5 days for a new fan but it went in like a charm.

My point for anyone else that reads this is that It is not as hard is you think. Really a few screws, one mod to the new fan so you dont have to unconnect all the AC stuff, and you are golden. Again, thanks to you all for the advice and one guy somewhere on here that offered up step by step instructions. Its nice to have cold air when its pushing 100 degrees outside...
