Default BEARINGS and Front Axle

I really am starting to question why anyone would buy a dodge ram 1500. I bought a 2007 1500 4wd with 27,000 miles in October 2009. Jan 1 I was driving my Sister in law home to Illinois, right in the middle of BFE Iowa the water pump goes out, it's one friggi'n degree outside!, 32,000 miles, and oh by the way it's 1 month out of warranty! 3 months later the brake rotors are so warped that the truck shakes like it's driving on railroad ties. Now the dealer says the right front wheel bearing and axle are bad, really? Seriously? Not to mention this thing eats tires too. This super durable dodge ram is built to fall apart at 44,000 miles? Of course the 100K power train warranty doesn't cover a second owner, go figure! no wonder this company went bankrupt and had to have the government bail their sorry butts out. So now these theives want $850 to fix the axle and bearings, whats next? does the tranny fall out at 50K? How can you people sit there and spout off about what a great truck dodge makes? Dodge is the right name for this company, all they do is dodge their responsibilities and make crappy trucks.

So did you come here for help or to talk about how crappy Dodges are? If its the latter i think you picked the wrong place to vent your anger.

come here for advice... not to rant on about your bad experiences.
all people here own a dodge and most all of them are very satisfied with their trucks.
there should have been an inspection done before the sale

who knows you just might really suck at driving and the previous owner could not of dont any preventative maintenance.. and how long did you drive with warped rotors- if they as bad as you say they are that would of f-ed up the axle and wheel bearings...

btw my dodge when 120 000 kms with out needing rotors..and my water pump is just fine. the only thing starting to go now is my sway bar links and i believe i have a bad ball joint. and i currently have 135 000km. and im still 3500kms from home half way through my vacation road trip- and have total faith in my dodge.

maybe you got a lemon or your mistreating it

break out a wrench and learn about the truck instead of whinning. I just replaced my front wheel bearings and abs sensor it was 260 for both. The axle was listed for 150, but after looking mine over i didn't need to replace it. Oh ya did i mention mine only has 40,000 miles on it. Things break if you didn't want to deal with paying out of pocket you should have purchased the extended warranty with 0 deductable.

OK, enough. Everybody is allowed a little rant out of frustration... Since the OP is not asking for any advice and is simply "venting" there is no reason to leave this thread open...
