P0420 is a O2 sensor reporting Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

Either you have an exh leak or the cat is bad or maybe an O2 is bad. (drivers side)

Are you are in warranty? If not then why not try a few things yourself? Check your exh manifold bolts and maybe replace the O2. You can get the front O2's from Autozone for about $25 each and the rear O2's for about $30

ya i would love to change the 02 sensor, but since last august that i was in the hospital for 2 months, and had a poece of my skull removed, so my brain could realease the tention, i was standing on the rear bumper of a suv, and they stopped, so i went to get off, and they started moving again.,, so then i fell down straight on my head and it knocked me out for 2 weeks..... i went through alot at the hopspital.... the doctors wont let me do too much yet... and since its been sitting for 11 months, i put it back on the road, so my mom could drive it for abit. and just yesterday the CEL came on. so i dont think the dealer will charge too much to put an 02 sensor in, and theres no exhaust leak, and it just hit 50,000miles. but aleast i get my liscence back in october or november, i cant wait for that! cause it sucks not being able to drive anywhere...

It's really good to see you back here, Jonny. Also glad to hear you will be able to drive your truck again soon!

Rather read what you type than read about you. Take it to the dealer then bro.
