Tailgate Issues
I would take it back to who did the work and tell them the problem... exception would be if you ordered the parts and just had it painted. But sounds like they installed it for you, so they should make it right.
I had bought the parts off the internet and had them paint and install. i have taken it back to them and they thought they could adjust the bumper to fix the issue. They are saying there is no adjustment as the bumper rest on the hitch. So they basically came back with we have no idea you must have purchased a bold after market bumper. My response to that is everything lines up flush and all body lines are matching so how is this possible. I will measure the cables and post that later, but all my hardware was removed from the old tailgate and put into this one. The old tailgate did not hit so WTF?
Well checked my cables and they are 21.5" long and both level. The body shop didn't touch my bumper. At this point i may try to oval out the mounting holes to get some adjustment for the rear bumper.
Nope the bed wasn't unbolted. I had a new tailgate put on painted, the rear quarter was sanded down and painted, but the body shop assures me the box was not unbolted and the rear bumper was not either. After inspecting the rear bumper it doesn't appear to have adjustment as the locator pins pretty much put it where it has to be. The only my dad can think of as he works in a collision shop is that maybe the aftermarket tailgate has more of a buldge in the center as thats the only place it hits.
