Default Non-Smooth Acceleration..

I was towing approx 4500lbs with my 1500 (see sig) and noticed that under hard acceleration (getting up to highway speeds) it seemed to 'pulse' when accelerating. The type of pulse you can feel it in your but... not enough to shake your body though.

Other than the acceleration it towed fine. Just wondering if this is a bad sign.

Note: I had it in tow/haul axx mode.

Agreed, if things are not secured or tied down and move it can feel that way. But you would know if t is something moving around you are pulling or if the truck is stumbling. When was the last time you did a complete tune up?

I was towing a 2500lb Kubota RTV on a 1500lb (ish) trailer.

The truck has had regular oil changes, but I haven't done plugs as the stealer up here wants too much (~$600) to do them. I was going to do them myself.. when I had time.

If it sounds like its stumbling (no codes, and drives like a champ any other time), then maybe I'll get those plugs done this weekend when the wifey is out of town.

$600 to change plugs that cost $1.89 each is crazy. Although you need 16 of'em, that's still only $30. Just get basic copper as they work the best. It's easiest to go through the wheel wells. There's only 8 screbolts holding the liners in place. Much easier then breaking your back bending over the sides.

solid axel/HD springs trailer?
i'd say the Kubota RTV was bouncing on the rubber wheels and causing the trailer to rock, you really got to ratchet anything thing with big wheels down.
have you ever driving a tractor or seen one go by, its bouncy

Dirty Dog:

Shop rate is $199/hr, 2.5hrs + Plugs... roughly $600.

Mark:

The trailer is a tandem axel (solid) with leafsprings. It's a peice of junk for the most part. I just found it strange that it towed smooth most of the time, but it did this when I was merging into traffic off the shoulder from a stop.

Mine does the same thing when towing my Nova (2000lbs) with my Bri-Mar car trailer (1500lbs)....Someone on here told me it was the stock air filter. So i upgraded to a K&N, and it still does it. I can not see it while watching the tach, but i can deff feel it when merging into traffic or getting up to speed from a toll booth at WOT.
No idea what it is...but with the lifetime warranty...i'll deal with it when something breaks i guess....
