My 2005 is throttle by wire too.
He's also gonna need custom drive shafts, the 2500's are far beefier, plus the rear in the 1500 is 9-1/4 light corp and 2500 is 10-1/2.
Looking at OP again, its a long bed so there will be an additional carrier bearing in the rear drive line.

Im a manual guy myself, which is the reason i got the 4.7L, could not afford the hemi 2500 with the 6 speed..... have u estimated how much this is going to cost as apposed to trading ur truck in for a hemi 2500 6speed? or maybe even upgrade to the cummings with the 6speed (which is pretty badass,my ol man has one)

No, I haven't priced anything out yet. It's probably cheaper just to trade it in, but I don't want the extra 800lbs of the 2500. If I went with a 2500, I'd definitely get a Cummins.

well the best combo you could have had is a hemi and 6speed, a 3/4 ton, manual, even with the extra 800 lbs is netting the same mpg as a mds 1500 hemi, a ctd with a 6speed is not a nascar racer, as the hemi and ctd share the same g56 manual, worries aboughty 8oo lbs is nothing, now worry abought the extra lbs of a CTD, nothing to fret over.

a 4.7 with a 6speed is a verry stout truck, its better suited for performance if you worry abought the lbs of a better stronger, heavy 2500!
