Default cams and tuning! where to start!!

ive got a comp 268 on the way. where do i need to start as far as tuning? i currently have the predator with a 93 octane tune. is it as simple as talking to my cmr dealer or do i need to get it dyno tuned once its in the truck? im a newbie at this tuning thing and completely lost thanks

You need to make sure you have the 6.1 pushrods and springs as well as a cam bolt and crank bolt.

If you can do a dyno tune then thats what i would do first. If not then email tunes are the next best but you will need a wideband gauge to dial in WOT tuning.

i have the pushrods and springs on order as well. my father was a mechanic so he knows the ins and outs. installing the cam isnt a problem as long as he is walking me through it. the cmr dealer i bought the predator from has a dyno so youd go with that?

Yes I would go with dyno tuning because everything is done and completed right then and there. Most of the time you do not need a wideband because they have one on the dyno they can use so that saves you another 150+.

Email tunes can be done but require a lot of logging and emailing back and forth. If there was someone close to me who could do, I would have went that route.
