You know, looking at the images, you might not be in too bad of shape. New bed & tailgate IMHO. Repair to dented cab, etc. It all depends on how the tree landed. If the branches took the brunt of the force, then it probably didn't do any damage underneath.

Make sure that they check it thoroughly.

I could not get a clear shot of the side rear body. It has a lot of dings and scratches in the paint. It's the right side on pic #2. My friend and I noticed that whole side rear side bed panel looks slightly crooked? Theirs even dings on the other side because the tree rapped around with different branches. The adjuster is gonna think I am nuts when I show him all the damage and think I am making it up. I even noticed a dent in my chrome bumper.

you cant really see in the picture but this is inside the bed. My rubber bed mat probably slowed down the damage

I think that they can pretty much unbolt the entire bed and bolt a new one down to the mounting pads on the frame. The question of underlying damage remains.

I don't think you'll have too much trouble with the adjuster - you have pictures to prove that the tree did fall on the car, and that it was a big tree. If it's a major insurer, they're usually pretty good. I've had NO problems with State Farm or Allstate. Travellers also did me well, even though it wasn't my insurer and I wasn't driving.

Dude that sucks, I know how it feels to have your baby damaged... They will fixer her up good as new, just don't let the insurance tell you that you have to use aftermarket or used parts. You do have a voice, so step up and use it! Don't let them take you for a ride, you paid insurance for a lot of years, now it is time to get what you paid for. Maybe even a couple mods included if you get the right body shop... Heck I got a SRT hood out of my Deer hit, and another set of hella's.. Take what you can get man, and don't let them screw you. Good luck, post pics after it's fixed....

that will buff out is what my insurance company told me when i hit a deer, i was like are you serious? i got 3 quotes and took them back to the adjuster threated him (the company) with letters to the editor, tv news, radio, reporting them to the insurance police (forget the name but we have them in ontario) and i got 10% more than the highest quote.

that sucks man

i would also get the gas tank (including gas lines) and vacuum system looked at as they are under the bed.
i hate to say it but try and get new everything from the cab back, excluding the frame if its in good shape, because as previous post have said you don't know the combined force of the tree+gravity+wind speed. stuff may look ok but as soon as you put weight in/on it, it could brake.
good luck and depending on your insurance its gonna go up no mater how much money you get so you might as well get alot!!!
greasy wheel gets the grease
