Default Engine Swap

I have a 03 hemi 1500 and the heads had a bunch of issues that ended in 2 messed heads and 1 piston with a hole in it..
anyways I am looking to swap a different engine in there and was thinking of a newer engine like the 05 and up...
I know they have the mds. someone told me its just a matter of not hooking upthe mds for it to work.. is that true??
can I swap in a computer and get it flashed?
any help would be great of what my best options are..

You would have to change out the lifters and yokes to get rids of the MDS. You would not need a tuner to deleted the MDS from the PCM because your 03 PCM does not have MDS programmed in it

However, even if you didnt need a tuner for the MDS delete, a tuner for performance is a good thing to have.

They are what hold the lifters in place. If yo are changing the lifters they will be right there by them so you change them all at once.

Number 11 in this pic is the yoke

I'd say your best bet with a newer motor would be to get one from a 2500, they do not have MDS and will bolt right in. (From what I've heard)

You need to change them because your PCM does not have the software/firmware in it to run the MDS system and you cannot use the MDS because of your older 03 PCM
