Default Tow/Haul Mode

Tried to do a little search for Tow, and Haul, and MPS but these 3 letter words dont work so well. When you put the 06 ram with the hemi in tow/haul mode, does it turn off the MDS?

Yes if you put the truck in Tow/Haul or O/D off it Disables MDS.

it also locks out 5th gear and keeps the truck in a better hp and torque range

There is only 300rpm difference between 4th and 5th @ 70mph. no real gain in the power range.

actually driving in 4th at 2000rpm is alot better than 5th at 1700 rpm when towing
and it locks out 5th so its not always hunting when you encounter hills saving your tranny

When towing, yes it will help relieve stress on the tranny as well as raise the 2-3 and 3-4 shift points which uses more fuel when driving unloaded. It's a trade-off. I just got a Diablosport Predator and turned off my MDS, got better shifts, more power and better mileage
