Default gears install anyone DIY?

Has anyone installed gears themselves, or has everyone had a mechanic do it? Is it a tricky procedure?

You dont wanna attempt this yourself. This is one of the only things I wouldnt do myself because you need special tools for gap measuring etc. Everything must be alligned exactly right to ensure a quality install and experience is huge. I would take it to a shop that specifically does this work and has done our trucks before.

Ask Weedahoe about it, I think he did his own but he's got the tools and experience.

I didnt do my own ONLY because it was not worth buying the special tools needed when I was only going to do this one time. I paid a mech from the dealership to do it on the side. There are a few guys who have done their own but again, they already have the tools needed

As the others have already pointed out. It's not a good idea to attempt yourself. This is one of those things where; if you have to ask if you can do it, you cannot do it. You would need someone to show you every step of the way and how to use the measurement tools/guages, before you would be on the right track.
What I would do is get estimates from local garages that specialize in Dodge or maybe a speed shop. You can get gears and Master Install kit for like $250 online. Labor should be ~$350-500 depending where you go.(One axle only.i.e.2wd)

That is kind of what I figured, just thought I would throw it out there. I called a local shop today and he said about $750 per axle all parts and labor included, but I would maybe get the stuff from Moes since everyone here runs those. Thanks
