Default got codes p0172, p2106, p2108 on my Hemi

Hello,

We have a 2003 Ram with a 5.7L Hemi, wife was driving it yesterday and she said that it started idling rough. She new how to check the code and the 1st code was p0172. She was in another town trying to get home. Idling rough didn't want to stay running the red electric bolt light came on and it threw out some more codes p2106 and p2108. I went and picked it up and hauled it home. It smells like it is running very rich, she says she used up alot of gas. I have no idea where to start. I've been looking at this forum. So far I have looked at the TB, it was dirty looking, so I cleaned it (hope that was not a mistake). I have pulled plugs 1 and 2 out, They are dark and plenty of fuel on them. Any help or a step in the right direction would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Aaron

I have also recently had this same problem.. From what I have read cleaning is usually a temporary fix and replacing the throttle body is the permanent fix.. My truck is still sitting because I haven't had time to mess with it

the red electronic bolt light is your throttle light.
replace your throttle body.
does it start? if not do you have spark?

Yes, the truck will start. It does not like to stay running. If you rev up the engine the butterfly on the TB barely moves. So that is what I figured. I even checked out all the other threads and that is what they seem to point to. Also, I recalibrate the pedal, just hoping. Oh well, since I will be replacing the TB, everyone seems to say upgrade from stock. Anyone have suggestions for what brand and where to look. I'm not finding much, except for spacers on the internet.

Thank you everyone,

Aaron
