Talking Stop by to Visit and Question

Hey yall, I have not been on here in a couple months since I dont have a truck anymore lol and I have a quick question. I was wondering if this was a good deal?

2006 DODGE RAM 1500 4WD, MEGA CAB, LARAMIE PACKAGE
Premier Laramie Package, 5.7L Hemi, Mega Cab, 4WD
Tan exterior, Gray leather interior, 54075 Original Owner miles. This truck is loaded! Leather everything, power everything, including sunroof and power sliding rear window, NAV System, 6 CD disc changer, Infinity Sound System, Split climate control system Cruise Control, Dual Air Bags, 70/30 folding split rear seats, rear climate control. bed liner, running boards New inspection, Clean title and history
This is a very nice truck and I have gone to great lengths to take care of it and maintain. Used for personal use traveling to work etc.. and light-duty use around the house, It is in very good shape and free of any major defects, or blemishes. One small ding in the rear bumper, minor scratches around the bed area. Very clean, good looking truck. Interior is in very good condition and shows only slight wear. The truck drives very well and the 5.7l Hemi offers plenty of power when required.

He is asking $19,500 for the truck?

The deal is fair for a private deal, he's not asking a stupid figure and you wouldn't be getting a "steal" at that price.

But I gotta agree with Silver, I've been in a two Mega Hemi's, driven one of them. Lotta weight for the Hemi. The Hemi has the power to move it pretty well, but not till you get up (around 2800 rpm) in the powerband. The Hemi is NOT a low end torque engine (in it's stock form).

This really kills city, off-road and towing performance and mpgs.

Might be enough low end grunt for you, I didn't think so. Re-gearing would help, but if it was me and I was buying, it'd be a QC Hemi or a Mega CTD. If a Cummins is out of the question or just not practical, I'd be looking QC...

Well I wanted to get just another QC Hemi but the wifey wants something with bigger back seat for the baby. So for me to talk her into letting me get another truck it had to be a Mega Cab..

Drive it and see. A lot of guys here have Mega Hemi's and don't complain about lack of low end. Just wasn't enough for me after knowing how mine pulls down low (even when it was stock). Might be plenty for you.
Just would hate to see you spend almost $20k and not be happy with the performance, and spending more $ on power adders and still not be happy.

If you were to get that truck and do 4.56 gears (about the best thing for low end grunt) you'd be up fairly close to what you could buy an '06 Mega CTD for...
