Default bought 35 gal fuel tank...time to swap

Well I just bought a 35 gal fuel tank off of a ram 1500 long bed 2wd. I am going to swap my 26 gal tank out for the 35 gal tank. I know weedahoe has already done this swap. I just wanted to make sure I had everything i needed to get it done. I think I need a different tank straps though. From what weed said, all i need is the front tank strap (the one closer to the cab) from the 35 gal then I can use my rear strap on the back of the tank. Did weedahoe make a DIY for this also? Ill try and post a pic of the tank I bought too. Then i was planning on using my fuel pump and anything else i needed off of my tank. Anything I was forgetting or to keep in mind thanks guys! I plan on doing it this weekend so ill post pics when done and let you know how it went.

Well there wasnt much need for a DIY. You simply drive the tank as low as you can without running out of fuel and disconnect the fuel filler hose. The place a floor jack under teh tank with a 2*4 or 2*6 to support it and take loose the two nuts on teh straps that hold the tank in place and then let the jack down with the tank. Disconnect the lines and swap tanks.

Here was my thread if you were looking for it

Finished my 26gal to 35gal fuel tank swap

Its been a while since I did mine but if I remember correctly it was just the front strap. Do you need me to get the part number off mine?
