Its always a good idea to keep them on from what i've learned. I cut mine off for a week and ended up having to put them back on. One of my Downstream oxygen sensors went bad on the third day. I even had Sparkplug non foulers installed which worked up until the sensor went bad. I continued to drive it for the rest of the week and ended up getting like 12 mpg on the hwy where i usually get 18. The exhaust was just a little louder not much though. Also I could not feel a gain in performance. Put them back on and havent had any problems yet. While they were off i looked inside them and they looked clean at 52,000 miles.

Leave them on. They are already high flow converters from the factory. Nothing to gain except stinking exhaust and probably a small loss of torque.

These are not your father's cats. They flow night and day better than the cats of the '70s and '80s. I did long tube headers and left the stock cats in, although moved back a bit to allow for the headers and I'm not even in an inspection state...

Out of curiousity, which long tube headers do you have?

To the OP - personally, I'd keep the cats. I don't know how Canada is about emissions testing but here in the US, they seem inclined to become more stringent in the future.

i have pacesetter long tube headers with their y pipe and i ran with no cats for about 2 months. I got sick of check engine light and decided to have some high flows put on and since then no problems with check engine light. i do have more drone in the cab, but as far as sound when i get on it sounds the same to me.

So how's the performance with the LT's?

I live in a test area so I HAVE to have cats. I have read on a Honda forum about some ways of "tricking" the oxygen sensor but that wouldn't help me when they hold the mirror under the truck during the e-test. They want to see cats under there, and I don't mean the furry kind. Frankly, if the cats flow good, I don't see any reason to eliminate them unless you're doing big-time engine mods.

I've got the Pacesetters, with a custom ceramic coat applied by a local coatings shop.

You could use the non-fouler trick (I have a DIY in the FAQ) but you'd obviously fail visual...
