Question strange starting problem

2002 4.7 1500 No codes indicated when scanned or on self test. If it sits for about 20 min. it is has to turn over several times before starting. Starts quicker with trottle fully open. Once started, it will crank at the touch of the key as may times as you try. If it sits for 5 days it will crank at the touch of the key the first time. Fuel pressure jumps to 48 psi as soon as switch is turned on(new fuel pump). However, the pressure bleeds off in about 5 min. when turned off. Is that normal? Replaced idle motor(no change). Smells rich with difficult start. Does not when starts easy. Could the injectors be leaking and flooding the cyl? It would have to be more than a couple to make it hard to start right???

I have the same problem and asked the questions.
I think its the injecters, but haven't had the time to check it out.
I ran some injecter cleaner through(OFF THE FUEL RAIL) but it didn't help.
good luck and if I figure it out I'll let you know

pull your injectors and look at them. buy o-rings for when you put them back in.

Time for new injectors, or send those in and get them rebuilt
