2 Questions: Brakes and suspension lift
Hey guys. I am sure these two questions have been answered a number of times on this forum, but I searched using a tag and don't have nearly enough time it would take to filter all of them for the answers I need. So here goes:
1) I have an 2003 Ram 1500 SLT 4dr. 4wd. The brakes squeak when I apply them constantly. I have had the brakes changed and even took the truck to a local shop and asked what to do and he just said to get some air cleaner for a keyboard and spray up in there. That doesn't seem logical to me, nor does it seem like it would fix the problem for very long. Any suggestions please? It is driving me insane!
2) I am looking for about an inch. 1 inch suspension or body lift for the 03 Ram SLT 4dr 4wd. I realize that isn't much, but it's what I think I can get away with and it not look strange. I have BF Goodrich all-terrain tires 285/70/17 and don't want to have to change them for the thing to look right. Will a 2 in. lift make it too high or what?
Thanks guys.

1. did you grease the back of the brakes?
2. being an 03 4x4 you can crank the torsion bars up to 2inches (front) that will "level" the truck if you want an inch all around you can just get a 1 inch lift block for the rear and crank the front 1 inch, that would only cost you $30-50 for blocks

1. spray some disc brake quiet on the back of the pads, and make sure your hardware is all clean and lubed with some sil-glide.
2. as in what marx said crank your torsion bars halfway for an inch if you want it leveled, or crank them most of the way up and put a block in the back

Also remember to mark a line across your socket and crossmember for reference on how many times the bolt has been turned....And to make sure you are turning the bolt a full turn.Remember how many times you turned the bolts, incase you want to put it back to factory height.

measure both sides with truck on the ground, jack the front end up so the weight is off the tires and crank each bolt a couple of turns. Lower truck and re-measure. Dunno why, but often the exact same amount of turns yields different results side to side, so you may have to raise, adjust, lower and measure a couple of times.
Remember, the higher you go, the more stress you put on the CV axles, so don't get crazy...
