Default Front End Shocks and Rear?!?

Hey guys. I have a question about shocks for the from end of a 2003 1500 4x4 4dr. slt Ram. What are the best shocks for the front end of this truck? Also, what are the best shocks for the money? I don't do a ton of off-roading but I do go over some rough terrain. I want some new shocks but there are so many! Also, what about the back? Do I need to replace the springs ever or are those pretty much set? And Finally, with the front end shocks, would they still work if I installed a 1.5 inch torsion key in the front and add-a-leaf on the back? Thanks for the help guys!

Best shock IMO would be a Bilstein, followed closely by a Rancho 9000.

Best shock for the $ IMO would be a Pro Comp ES9000 (firmer ride) or an ES3000 (softer ride). The shocks are in actuality made by Tenneco (parent company of both Rancho and Monroe.

Of course shocks are a LOT like tires, what one guy loves, another will hate, so prepare yourself for a lot of varying opinions on this.

If you use any type of suspension (not body) lift you'll have to consider the amount of lift when purchasing shocks...

I love the RS5000s I put on my truck a week or so ago. Now rides like a truck should and have firmed up the more I drove around. I'm still grinning from ear to ***.

Thanks! What about if I have a 2" leveling kit on the front end of the truck? Do I need to get a specific size or are they adjustable?

i personally use he rs 9000's and i love them, they are adjustable, but it doesn't make a huge difference really just pick a reputable brand and decide if you like how they ride

Thats good to know. I was thinking of a set of these, but thought that the adjusting was a little gimmicky.
I think I'll settle for a set of HD Bilsteins, now my Rancho 5000's are a little over the hill.
