Default Rear rotor removal?

Hey guys. Truck on jacks, changing rotors and pads to drilled/ ceremic. Fronts went like cake, back rotors won't come off. Am I missing something. E-brake is not on. Truck is 02 1500, 2wd.

Internet is out at the house so I'm on my Blackberry and can't search. Thanks for any help.

There may be a star wheel on the inside of the brake in the back you will have to turn to make the parking brake pads release from the inside of the rotor.

I haven't done my own brakes, but the brake shop didn't find it too easy to remove my rear disks either.

Do the disks/rotors have holes for jack screws?

It may just be corrosion causing the rotor to stick to the hub. Try some kind of lubricant (WD-40 or PB Blaster)

Thanks for the replies guys. Right after posting that I became pissed and decided not to fool with it. I farmed it out to a local mechanic. Cost me an extra $50 but I now know how to get them off. He got a BFH and beat the snot out of it, they came off, not easy but they came off.

The rear rotors are pretty tough sometimes, a bfh and some penetrating oil usualy do the trick. I will be doing mine this weekend.

yeah, just use a bfh if you want to replace your e-brake shoes. it only takes a couple minutes to turn down the star adjuster in the back. then a couple smacks
