I'm a tall guy but...
Guys, I love my new 05 1500 RAM ST 3.7 AT, but now I'm paying for trying to save a couple bucks..... My truck does not come with power locks, and I did not ask for it.... However, I have a commute buddy, and it turns out I can't open the passenger door from the driver seat, and I'm 6'4" - unless I unbuckle and lean over... what a great big truck!!!
Are there any reliable aftermarket power locks/remote keyless entry systems for the 1500 RAM, and if yes, are they easy to install?
Thanks, Tommy
PS: Don't complain about the gas prices... Be glad u don't live in Europe.. no way u could afford to drive a RAM over there.

RE: Found this on eBay...
Ok I have personally done this conversion in my '04 4.7L ST. Easy as pie. Get yourself a set of 2-wire actuators off ebay (pay for the good ones) and then get a crimestopper keyless entry system. Mine is the 865RKEII. Wiring is pretty straight forward except that you will have to switch the system to a negative output for the lights flash and resist it down 1.2K ohms. The only other thing to look out for is the Ignition controlled locks. DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE!!!!! The Dodge Ram allows the operator/passenger to open the door from the inside even when locked so if you or your buddy open the door before you turn the ignition off the system will send the unluck pulse to a door that is already in the unlock position and it will burn the motor in the actuator. Those of you that have factory power locks will notice that the doors do not unlock on ignition off but do lock on ignition on and like 5mph speed. Unfortunately there is no way to set the Crimestopper system to lock on ignition but not unlock.
