Default Wiring Taurus fan - Questions

Pulled a e-fan out of a Taurus and bought a controller at NAPA (Flex-a-lite Adjustable Temperature Control Kit) Most wiring diagrams I see have 3 wires coming from the fan, my wiring harness only has 2, did I pull the wrong fan? What is a good source of keyed power for this? How can I put in a manual switch to shut it off for mud? What is the best way to adjust the temperature properly without a chip? Thanks

Yeah, it should have 3 wires.

What year car did you get this from?

It still may work though. As for keyed power, the fuse box is right there under the hood where the fan is going to be. As for a manual switch, just tie it in on the fan controller wire that will be a keyed switch. As for adjusting it, start with a cool engine, start it and feel the upper rad hose. When the upper hose gets warm (indicating the stat just opened) then adjust the controller down until the fan kicks in

Not sure on the year, just grabbed one from a Taurus. I guess this is a single speed fan, which might be easier. Where would I get power from the fusebox, just a spare spot?
Thanks

Just get your voltage meter or test light out and probe some of the empty sockets in the fuse box.
