question about limited slip diff

Default question about limited slip diff

Hey guys just got my hands on a 2004 ram 1500,just wondering if it has a limited slip???
It has the 4.7 with the 20's,I know it has 3.92 but was wondering about the limited slip????

There may be a sticker on the glove box door. If so, it will tell you. If the sticker's gone, put one rear wheel on slippery, one on dry and goose it (DON'T punch it). If it moves, you have LSD. If the wheel on slippery just spins, it's a peg-leg.

Or you can get someone to get a build sheet based off your VIN. It will tell you everything the truck came with

I'm about to install 4;56's,just wondering if I should run the auburn lsd also,what do you guys think:install just the gears or the auburn and gears.

you can just jack up the rear of your truck and spin one wheel with your hand, if the other wheel moves the same direction you have lsd, if it moves the opposite direction you have open diff. (no lsd)

diffidently run the auburn you wont regret it

buddy of mine was talking to me and he said i might have a lsd but dodge calls it anti spin diff and to look in the glove box or on the rear diff and it will tell you,so I may already have one,guess i have to look.

or you can do this ^^^^ and its called a Traclock not anti spin.

There's a good chance that there's a tag of some sort hanging from the differential. I have one on mine, hanging near the right end of the axle that plainly states "3.55 OPEN". Meaning, I don't have a limited slip.

Ive got that Auburn in mine and I love it. It has never given any issues.
