Default replacing front shocks...need help.

i just rolled over 83,000 miles on my truck and its time for some new front shocks. Ive got a 06 4x4 with the coil over front suspension and i was just wondering if there is a DIY on replacing the front shocks someone can give me a link to or what? also will i need a spring compressor to do this job? thanks for the help

hey when i did my lift kit on my 08 dodge with 60k on it i needed to take apart the shock. The king nut on top was seized and i tried everything from a pipe wrench to hold the shaft, to a modified 21mm that was ground down to put a wrench on and holed out to put a smaller socket on which almost worked but i lost patience and stripped it at that point i called every shop for advice and in frustration i took out the plasma cutter and cut the shock just be carful to not heat it up to bad as you might explode the gasses inside the shock. You can get spring compressors at VIP for like a $40 deposit for the week and its like $5 a day. But deff was safer to use the compressors and a burp gun to give me some more room to work with. Oh sawzall/hack saw doesn't really work cause it is hardened steel. just to let you know
