Default Towing with 35's

So i plan on putting 35's on my 2005 Hemi 4x4 1500, Can i still tow with these size tires? i am not doing a gear change i am keepin 3.92's. Also, will it clear the fenderwells if I only have a Level kit? If I did go with these tires, I am going to beef up the tranny cooler.

Thanks!

Yes you will clear and of course you can tow with them

No need to get a bigger trans cooler without you even know your temps first.

You can "clear" 35s but you'll lose most of your articulation, which could be very important when towing/hauling. May find you'll need to bag your truck for towing.
Also, 3.92 would be the absolute MINIMUM gearing I'd think about with 35" tires, you'll notice a slight loss of power because your gearing will be reduced to about what the 3.55s are with the the increase in tire diameter. Not a very efficient towing ratio, but do-able...

I ran 4.10s and 35" tires on my 86 w250 with no problems in towing a ~6500 pound trailer, but I had a 3-speed auto so the engine was up in the RPMs at speed.

Your hemi has a lot more power than my 5.9 had, and your trans should give better gear ratios to work with.

Ride height and tire clearance I know nothing about though. I had 5" of lift on my w250.

If the 545rfe has one big advantage over the 45rfe or any preceding Dodge truck transmission it's that it essentially has two overdrive gears which allows you to "get away with" a much better gear ratio for towing, hauling or hauling a$$ while still maintaining good highway gas mileage...

And of course the 45RFE just needs a reflash to make it a 545RFE...

i have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a leveling kit and 35's and 3.92 gears and mine tows just fine and ive towwed some decend loads and it dont tow far off my brothers stock dodge and his is same as mine but 2004. but you will loose a little power but i didnt loose very much. and they clear the fender wells fine. i have flexed mine all the way out and the rear tires went all the way and the tires i dont think were touchin the outer part of the fender wells but they went all the way up in them with no rubbing. you will be fine with the 35's towing.
