head light blackout question

Default head light blackout question

can i remove the stock head light and take the box apart so that i can paint the inside of it in a matt black? or should i think about trying to buy a balcked out set .

yes and yes !! but it is up to you. you do it yourself and get the satisfaction of the results or go the easy way and but a blacked out pair already.. either way, good luck !!!

You can paint them black, BUT do NOT paint the reflector bowl black or you will have no light ouput. That little cap over the bulb causes the light to be refracted against the chrome reflector bowl so it can disperse the light onto the road. Paint that part black and you'll get practically no light output. So, make sure the dished part doesn't get painted.
It's a PIA to pull apart the housings and if I were to do it just to paint the inside black...I'd buy already black headlights for the $100 they get for them on Ebay.

paint em youll have fun doing it too and it will cost a few bucks and some time not 100 dollars you can use towards something else

You can get a more custom look if you do them, but DirtyDog was right about it being a job. I love mine and everyone that I have done it for love it though

if you look in the FAQ and extend the search parameters at the bottom I have a DIY posted
