ok this may be a easy question, but i can not find a answer to it. when i look for parts for my 2006 ram 1500 5.7 two engine types come up?
a 5.7L D hemi and a 5.7L 2 hemi?

whats the difference and how would i know which to pick for my truck?

 

decode your vin? think the 8th digit is engine

 

One is MDS equiped (1500s) and the other is not...i think D is non-MDS...anyone confirm?

 

2 = MDS which all STD cab and Quadcab 1500's have 06-08. The D is the non MDS in Megacabs and 2500's.
