I just got my first Ram on Friday - a 2006 Ram 1500 SLT, with a 5.7L Hemi.

I like it a lot so far, but have a few questions...

1. There is a very annoying whistle coming from the cabin air system. When it's on, and the enging is at idle, it's pretty loud. It will nearly go away if I open a door or crack a window.

2. Is there a way to see that the cylinder management feature is actually working?

1. sounds like the vents at the back of the cab (to outsde) might not be working causing + pressure in the cab and the whining is the fan trying to push more air in but it cant

1. That makes sense. I'll go check it out this afternoon and see if I can locate the vents and see if something's blocking them.

You should also feel the MDS kicking on and off at cruising speeds.

Where in GA are you at BTW?

 

i get that wistle coming from my vents too and its very loud from out side the truck. my buddy was standing in his house with the door closed and he could hear when i turned the fan up and down.

 

Until I get more of a feel for the vehicle, I want some positive confirmation when the MDS is active. Know what I mean?

I found a page on another forum that shows the same mod, but with pics. Can't post it here, apparently.

And I haven't been able to locate the exhaust vents on the inside or outside of the cab. Are they behind the seat backs? Where do they vent to the outside of the cab, so I can verify if there's something blocking them on the outside?
