Default new head unit, now locks lights horn & more don't work

welll ... here is what happened. me and a buddy were puttin a new head unit in my truck, we took out the hold harness and put in a new one. one wire, the 12v yellow wire, got crimped but the plastic tip at the end broke off .... we turned on the radio to see if it worked, and it did for about five seconds ... somethin sparked, and the radio shut off and won't turn back on.

not only that, but my locks, lights, horn and a few other things will not work unless the car is turned on. the radio will not work period. we checked all the fuses, they all appear to be fine.

if it helps at all, everything that doesn't work when the car if off has 20a listed next to it in the fuse box.

can anyone help me out?

LOL

Thats what i was thinking also. If you lost power to everything you need to pull that radio back out and go over each wire and then start checking fuses. Sounds to me like you shorted something and popped a fuse. At least, I hope thats all you did.

exact same thing happened to mine, I ended up having to run a whole new 12v yellow wire(which is constant i think). The audio shop did it for mine, I didnt wanna *** with it. But same thing door locks and stuff wouldnt work when it was off. Sorry im not a whole lot of help but they didnt tell me the whole situation of what they did and how it happened.

Did you cut the harness? Why didnt you just by a harness adapter for 10 bucks instead of cutting the factory plug?
