Default Leveling issues

Hey, I have not posted on here in a long time but I read the posts often. For once I have a question or two of my own. Over the past weekend I installed skyjacker leveling keys in my truck. It seemed to go okay. I rented a big ball joint press from Auto Zone and the job didn't seem that bad. However, now the left bolt and the block it threads through won't seem to sit right. It's at an odd angle. The other side is pretty much straight vertical. I even went back and unloaded it, removed it, and replaced it and it did it again. The thing is just sitting about 10 or 15 degrees off of vertical. I've had it aligned and driven a few hundred miles this way. How concerned should I be? What may be causing this?

Also, I ordered shocks to go with this. I order Skyjacker Nitro 8000's. I told them I was putting in a 2" front lift, but the shocks they gave me (N8017 and N8019) don't seem right. The front one is literally shorter than my old stock ones. But the Skyjacker website seems to think these are correct as well. Am I crazy or something?

Thanks.

I see this all the time and its just something that happens with aftermarket keys. Usually its from the dimple being drilled in the wrong spot. Either too far out or to far in.. But it doesnt hurt anything. I'm not sure what its called, but the thing that holds the keyway bolt is made curved so it can adjust to the angle.

If I were you, i would see what Skyjacker would say, maybe they can send you another key.

Yeah, I thought about that but if it's not a huge problem I'm happy to just leave it there. The last thing I want to do is go rent the tool again and go through the effort of changing it out again.

Now I just have to figure out these shocks so I can get that done. These things are shorter than the stock ones it seems.

Hmmm are they shorter extended all the way out or shorter compressed in? Sometimes they do screw up and send the wrong ones. I will check tomorrow (if you havent found a solution by then) and look up the part numbers in our shock book.

Well, I pulled my front driver side shock and went to put in the new one, which was fully extended at the time, and it didn't reach. So I held my old shock up next to the new one, both fully extended, and the new one was flat out shorter.

So according to Skyjacker the shocks 4wheelonline sent me are for a truck with 0-1" of lift. Those idiots never should have sent them to me knowing I had a 2" level kit on there. I sent them back and ordered some Rancho RS5000 Max Travels from another site. They cost a little more, so I hope they are worth it.

I also ordered a power wire and a Sonnax line pressure booster. This oughta be fun.
