Default What should I do here???

I was flushing out my cooling system today and ran into a problem. When I went to remove the thermostat, the bottom screw for the thermostat housing broke off!! Needless to say I didn't succeed in extracting the broken screw. Should I drill the hole out and install a heli-coil or tap the hole and go with a bigger screw? I could use any advice here. I drive a 2002 1500 SLT 4.7L V8.

use an easy out to get it out,Then you just need to get a new bolt.no heli coil required

I worked on it all day today with an easy-out with no success. I've dicked the threads up pretty good. I've even thought about drilling all the way through and installing a bolt and nut.
