What would be the best programmer for an 03?
I'm going to put in a new cam soon and wanted maybe a tune for it.
Which programmer would support a "custom" tune for my 03?
I know about the idle difficulties with the 03 pcm not being able to change the idle etc. So I'll be going for a 260 grind or something a liitle bit more aggressive.....but not too much more.
This truck still needs to be my daily drive ha ha ha.

You can use a DSP for custom tunes, however you cannot change speed restrictions with it. Superchips 3715 has the same programs as a 3865 (there is no trans control for us other than doing the TMR delete mod) for 03's, but the 3865 has logging software built in.

 

For an 03 and a CC 260, i would just do superchips and call it a day

Rant: This idea of tuning to keep the computer happy instead of doing what needs to be done to make horsepower just plain goes against my idea of Hot Rodding. DSP can provide fuel and timing within the capabilities of whatever year PCM that is being used. It cannot adjust RPM and speed limiters. SC can provide canned tunes and adjust RPM limiter and move the speed resicter to 140 mph.

"FAST" stand alone EZtuner using a single plane intake manifold and 4BL TB turned 400 hp on a stock engine.
