Thanks guys, that helps alot. So im now in the market for 4:56 gears, if anyone knows of a good price let me know. So far i have found $589 for the whole kit and those are Genuine Gear. Is this a good deal?

And by the way i currently have 3:55's so yeah i need something better.

They got a bad rap for noise some years back, so you'll probably see some negative feedback on them, but I've been running Genuine's since April of '05 without a single hint of a whine. At last fluid change they looked perfect. Pyro runs them in the rear of his 4x2 also and they've never made a sound.

The Lifetime Warranty and price is what got me to try them.

Gears are ALL about the install. Find you a good, experienced installer, pay his price and you should be fine regardless of the brand, except US Gears. The cheapest gears on the market and NOBODY has been able to install them and keep them from whining!!!

Not ideal for cruising, but for a test run, it'd be interesting to see what kind of top speed could be produced (on a track, of course - don't try this at home).

Of course, the governor is usually the limiting device.Any idea what the top speed governor setting is on these trucks? I know that it can be changed with a tuner, but I'm wondering what Dodge sets it at.
Mine was 105 since it cae with GY LS tires that were speed rated to 112. I upped it once I got H rated tires.

Never did understand why they'd use an aluminum driveshaft in the 4x2s???

x2 and what gear and rpm are you trapping? with and without spray? Sounds like a Go-er. I personally stop at 120 since i am at the top of 3rd. No need to go to OD. Prob' going to be worse when i change out my 4.10's.
