Transmission Line Pressure Booster
Have any of you tried these on your truck? They are about 1/4 of the way down the page.
45RFE - 545RFE - 68RFE Line Pressure Booster

I have one on my truck and absolutely love it. It gives much firmer, faster and snappier shifts.
You can buy one new for about $40 or make one for less than $10

Weed, I was reading throw the posts on the DT forum and was wondering if it would be better to put the 15ohm in line with line #2 then to do 1 and 3 with a 2.2k ohm.
And did some ever confirm that it is a 15 ohm resistor?

I did this awhile back. I bought the 2.2k ohm resistor, and wired it up like it was specified. It didnt shift all that harder but was slightly noticeable more in the mornings. I ran it for 4 days and on the 4th morning it shifted so hard at part throttle i thought i ran over something in the road. After that i had problems with my transmission randomly hesitating to shift out of 4th and it would rev up a little in between shifts like the transmission was slipping, also randomly. I thought maybe it had a bad connection where the resistor was soldered on but everything was good and tight. I removed it and the transmission shifted normally. I check my dtc codes and a low line pressure code came up (obviously)and then there was a 4th gear ratio inccorrect code, or something like that, came up also. I got scared i was gonna tear up the tranny so i didnt put it back on. I dunno what happened honestly. I think i asked when the tlb thread was open but i never got a responce. I just thought i would share my experiece with the TLPB mod.
I have thought about buying a stage 2 Sharadon valve body but just havent had the cash for one lately.

I have one right from sonnex, its the 68RFE so its only 10-15PSI...but its good enough for me, I love it actually. During WOT its simply perfect, firm hard and fast shifts. Thinking about it though i might have gone the next step up and got the 45RFE, just too get that much more. My temperatures on my tranny run a little bit cooler (or so my tuner says)
Not to mention when you are pulling it helps out soo much. If you want a nice smooth luxurious driving truck then it might not be the thing for you. However if your like me, and drive a TRUCK! then absolutely I would recommended it.
You can build one as people state, its much cheaper, but you really have to make sure that you get the right resistor ratings. (which is not all that hard) but for some people simple and faster is better. I also think that you have to either splice the factory wires, or make up your own "factory" plug. If you at least buy from sonnex, they have already made sure everything is good, not to mention its all factory harnesses so if you dont like it then its simple to take out!

Thanks for the info Guys.
I really want firm hard shifts, i really want to make one but i was hopping to find out the exact resistance of the Sonnex one and what wire it is on.
On the Dodge talk forum they list that it is supposed to be a 15ohm but that oldirty read 388ohms so i just want to make sure before i build one.
thanks agian for the info.

i just did the exact thing as weed posted a link to and added the wire with the 2.2k ohm resister and connectors, and i plugged it in, took my truck for a drive and loaded my superchip tune on and i didnt really notice too much of a difference.....does it take a few days or something????? do i need a diff resistor ?
