It is 8 bolts the first time. But if you flip the 4 bolts on the brackets (the two on each side that are attached) you can take the brackets and bumper off with only 4 bolts each time. Thats what I did. For a little while there I was taking it off and putting it on very frequently so I saved myself some time in the long run I think.
