Default A/C Switch Control

Is there a way to set the A/C switches so that it always starts in the Recirculate/MAX mode?

My truck has buttons to control Fresh and Recirc and the damned thing's memory on those is worse than mine--It will not remember that I left the A/C set with both the A/c and the MAX buttons in ON condition--indicator lights on in other words--

IDK about an 02. But my 04 controls are as Marx said, you just turn the dial to recirc and leave it there. The only indicator light and button we have is to turn the AC compressor on or off.

My RAM is the SPORT edition and the A/C has the separate temp controls for the driver and passenger side and there are two big rotary ***** -- fan speed control and air distribution control; three illuminated push buttons--A/C, MAX, Heated Mirror control.

On the build sheet the A/C is called Dual Zone Temperature Control.

Anyway-it would be sweet if the default was for A/C and MAX to be on--

They probably didn't do it for a reason. When you shut the truck off, it still has some air movement when it's in the fresh air mode. When it's on recirculate, the fresh air doesn't enter the cab and if there's any smell at all, it will tend to linger in the truck. You could start having a stale odor from the truck being closed off from any fresh air.
