Hey guys,

Even though I crossed over to the dark side and got a 4th gen I still know you guys better and have some questions for you. I recently bought a 2009 Ram 1500 4X4 SLT Crew Cab HEMI. I found out that it has the 3.55 open differential. I'm fine with the 3.55's because I rarely tow and I do more highway driving/road trips so I could use the extra gas mileage. The thing that worries me is the open diff.
1) How capable do you think my new 4x4 truck is with open differentials? My 3rd gen had the 3.92 LSD but it got horribly stuck in the sand. I'm talking your regular beach sand.
2) How do you think my new 4x4 open diff will stand up to it?
3) Also, our trucks have traction control (ESP) correct? Would that help much in a situation where the drive tires are spinning?
