Default Cat Back Setup

Hello guys i just bought a '04 RAM 1500 5.7L to pull my race car and i was wondering what kind of gains i would get by replacing the stock muffler with a Dynomax Race Bullet muffler like this one http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/24219/10002/-1

Also the truck has 70K miles and i am not sure the transmission fluid has ever been changed. I wouldn't do a flush since I've had first hand experience in it screwing up transmissions. But would a regular fluid change hurt any?

Thanks for the help!

Changing the muffler is only going to change to exhaust tone. Dont expect to go faster ( noticeably).

At 70k on the trans I would certainly change all my fluids. There are more than a few threads on this and how to change the filters. 2wd and 4wd filters are different so be sure to get the right ones. You will need about 17 quarts or ATF+4.

There are lots of DIY's, FIY's and How-To's in our FAQs
